Le Cat Cafe Philly
Experiential Redesign
Le Cat Cafe Philadelphia
Philadelphia's longest-running cat cafe located on Gerard Avenue, facilitated by Green Street Rescue
What is it? And Why?
Le Cat Cafe is Philadelphia's first cat cafe creating a perfect environment
for guests to interact with adoptable cats before committing to adoption.
Cats are also socialized to interact with other felines and people alike, making them even better candidates for a new furry friend. I wanted to redesign the experience of Le Cat Cafe as it is an organization close to my heart as a cat lover and keeper of two Cat Cafe alumni. The current design of the cafe no longer stands up to its competitors which are both more visually appealing
to visitors and more stimulating for the cats. A fresh redesign would bring in more guests off the street, a more enjoyable visit, and a better environment for the cats that call the cafe home.
Reimagining the
Purrisian-style Cat Cafe

Research and Brainstorming
In the beginning of my process, I was considering keeping the Perisian cafe idea since so many of their larger cat towers and structures were French-themed. I drew inspiration from Impressionist artwork and vintage advertisements featuring cats from around the world before deciding on a singular black cat, a common theme in the advertisements.
Design with Cats in Mind
The most important part of approaching this redesign was creating an environment inspired by the cats that live in the cafe while still maintaining the same infrastructure already existing in the cafe. I wanted a space that was just as fun and accessible for the cats as it is for people
